2. Accounting in general

Day-to-day accounting in Odoo 16 works the same way as in Odoo 15:

• Customer invoices, vendor bills, credit notes, journal entries and payments are created and posted exactly as before.
• The Accounting dashboard (the cards for each journal) is unchanged in concept — you still see your sales, purchase, bank and cash journals there.
• Taxes, totals and the chart of accounts behave the same. Invoice and report layouts have only been visually refreshed.

The one significant change

The way bank statements are reconciled was rebuilt in Odoo 16. It is covered on the next page: Bank reconciliation.
