PLANA Business Cloud — v17
This is the v17 user manual. It covers PLANA Business Cloud running on the Odoo 17 base, which is the legacy version — still fully supported but no longer the default for new tenants.
Audience
Customers and tenant administrators on existing v17 deployments. Use the Manual version switcher above to compare with v18 or v19.
Status
Legacy — released October 2023 upstream. Full support until October 2027. New tenants are provisioned on v18 by default. If you are on v17, plan a migration to v18 by the end of 2026.
Where to start on v17
The v17 manual mirrors the v18 manual page-for-page. The vast majority of content is identical — the user-facing differences are described on the Version differences page.
The fastest path to useful work is the same as on v18:
What is different about v17
- The internal name for list views is "tree" rather than "list". Visually identical.
- The bank-reconciliation screen has the older layout — same actions, a slightly different panel arrangement compared to v18.
- A few advanced reports are styled differently but contain the same data.
- v17 supports the same Bulgarian fiscal pack as v18 — VAT rates, the NPR export, VIES and Intrastat — kept up to date with regulator changes.
Migrating from v17 to v18
When you are ready, the migration is a coordinated operation. PLANA handles the technical side end-to-end — you do not run any commands. A typical upgrade:
- We audit which modules your tenant uses
- We confirm every one of them is available on v18 (all currently-shipped modules are)
- We take a backup, clone your database, run the upgrade on the clone, and verify the result
- The production cutover happens during an off-peak window
- We monitor for 48–72 hours after the switch
Typical downtime: 15–30 minutes. No data is lost; all account balances and open transactions are preserved.
