6 · Maintenance contracts (SLA / preventive maintenance)
Many field-service businesses run on contracts — a customer pays for scheduled preventive-maintenance visits and a guaranteed response time. PLANA Field Service models this with agreements and recurring orders.
Service agreements
Service agreements (contracts) live in the Agreements app. On an agreement you can:
- set an SLA Response (hours) term — the guaranteed time to respond to a breakdown,
- see its Maintenance Schedules in the Field Service tab.
The agreement is the commercial contract; the recurring order is the engine that turns it into actual visits.
Recurring orders
A maintenance schedule is a Recurring Order — Field Service ▸ Operations ▸ Recurring Orders. On it you pick:
- the Location to visit,
- an Order Template (the standard checklist/work for that visit),
- a Frequency (for example monthly or quarterly),
- and link it to an Agreement.
A scheduled job then auto-generates field-service orders on that cadence, each stamped with the agreement — so preventive-maintenance visits are created and tracked under the contract automatically, and flow through exactly the same dispatch, mobile, sign-off and invoicing process as any other job.
Why stamp the agreement?
Because every generated visit carries its agreement, you can always see which contract a job belongs to, report on contract delivery, and bill (or not bill) according to the contract terms.
